Which LJV Program Is The Best Fit For Your Family?

Lakes Juniors offers three levels of training and competition:  

Regional - Season will run from Dec-Mar, practice twice a week and tournaments will be within 90 mins travel time.   There will be 8 tournament days, primarily single day events.  The season will end at the Badger Region Championships.

Select - "Super Regional" teams with all of the training benefits of a National team without all the travel cost!  Season will run from Dec-Apr, practice twice per week plus added positional training and approximately 14 tournament days featuring the Badger Region Power League (BRPL).  Most tournaments will be high level two day events and will be within a 2.5 hour travel time.  The season will end with a National level travel tournament, JVA World Challenge in Louisville, KY.  Select teams will have a Head and Asst Coach.  

National - Season will run from Dec-June, practice twice per week plus added positional training and approximately 20 tournament days including the Badger Region Power League and two or three "travel" tournaments ending at AAU Nationals in Orlando, FL.  National teams will have a Head and Asst. Coach.

PREPARE FOR THE 2024 SPRING SEASON

Lakes Juniors will be offering Extended Season Teams (EXS) for 14, 15 and 16 year old girls.  These will be highly competitive teams made up of primarily our Regional or Select team players but are open to new athletes from other clubs or girls that did not play the Regional season.   There will be a Head Coach and  Assistant Coach on each team.  We will have approximately 8 or 9 tournament dates (mainly two day, high level tournaments).  Tryouts (no charge) will be Wednesday March 20th, 5:30-7:30 pm at Faith Christian School Gym (link in the Lakes Calendar).  We will aim for 10 athletes on each team, maximum of 11.  

Update:  Practices will be scheduled for Monday and Wednesday evenings to avoid conflicting with school spring sports schedules as much as possible (a lot of school sports have games on Tue/Thu).  Practices will start April 1st  and will be 5:30-7:30 pm through April 10th.  Starting April 15th practices will be 6:30-8:30 pm at Lake Geneva Youth Camp Gym.  

Tentative Tournament Schedule

April 20-21:  Spring City AAU Grand Prix, Waukesha

April 27:  UW-Whitewater Open (14's and 15's)

April 28:  UW-Whitewater Open (16's) 

May 4-5:  MWP Penguin Fest, Waukesha

May 18-19:  Junior's Grand Slam, Milwaukee

June 1-2:   Junior's Summer Splash, Rockford 

The cost will be the same as the regular Regional season (-$100 if you are already on an LJV team and have a uniform).  It is a little shorter season but playing in the same number of tournament days and higher level (more expensive) tournaments.  $920.00 Includes all your club fees, gym rental, practice time, coaches pay, tournament entries and insurance.  You will be responsible for any travel or hotel expenses.  Your USAV membership will cover you for the EXS season and there is no tryout fee!  If you have not played this 2024 season you will need to get a USAV Membership.

• 12u - 14u Team Tryouts are July 20 & 21, 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm at Faith Christian School in Williams Bay (click on the Tryouts tab for the details).  For 2025 we are planning on forming the following teams:   Regional - 12u, 13u, 14u  Select - 14u
• 12u - 14u teams will practice twice per week, either Mon-Wed or Tue-Thu,  5:30 - 7:30 pm.  Practices will start Dec 2nd.  
• 12u - 14u tournaments will start in early January and  typically be every other weekend through mid-March.  You can scroll down this page to see the 2024 Tournament Schedule.  Typically there will be 6 to 8 tournament days.  14 Select - see  the Select Team information below.

• 15u - 18u Team Tryouts are July 20 & 21, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm at Faith Christian School in Williams Bay (click on the Tryouts tab for the details for each age group).  For 2025 we're planning on forming the following teams:  Regional - 15u, 16u and 17u.  Select - 15u, 16u, 17u and 18u.
• 15u - 18u teams will practice twice per week, either Mon-Wed or Tue-Thu.  15's will most likely be 5:30-7:30 pm and 16's-18's will be 7:30-9:30 pm.  Select teams will have Positional Practice every other week.  Practices will start Nov. 27th.
• 15u-18u Regional teams will typically have 8 tournament days starting in early January and ending at the end of March. 
• 15u-18u Select teams will typically have 14 tournament days, featuring the Badger Region Power League and end the season at the JVA World Challenge in Louisville, KY, April 11-13.
